How to use Tickler to prevent solving a Zendesk ticket when tasks aren’t done

In many workflows, closing a ticket too early creates problems - missed steps, compliance gaps, or work that has to be reopened later. Tickler’s Prevent Solve feature helps teams avoid this by making sure required tasks are completed before a ticket can be marked as solved.

What is Prevent Solve?

Prevent Solve is an option available in Tickler lists that blocks agents from solving a ticket until all checklist tasks are completed.

If a task is still open, the ticket stays open too.

This works quietly in the background and doesn’t interrupt agents unless something is genuinely unfinished.

When is Prevent Solve useful?

Prevent Solve is especially valuable for workflows where skipping a step has real consequences, such as:

How it works

Prevent Solve is applied at the checklist level in Tickler. Once enabled for a list, Zendesk won’t allow the ticket to be solved until all tasks in that checklist are complete.

You don’t need to change how agents work day to day. Tickler simply adds a safety net when it matters.
